Life
I'd rather be my current age than 16 or 21! I used to wish I had the younger body and older brain, but I don't even wish for that anymore. The end (of life) is closer in view than the beginning....and frankly, the thought of trading this body for a new one that will never grow old or hurt sounds like a better deal! I'm married to a man who remembers me when I was 21. I'm blessed that his memory works! The kids are raised. Grandchildren are arriving. And we're learning to "walk through the valley of the shadow of death" with our parents. A hard walk! It makes us clean out our garage so our kids won't have as hard a walk. But I'm sure it won't eliminate the difficulty of the path for them. At least we're talking about it with them. This bio may seem a bit dark, but facing death makes me face my own. And since whoever is reading this is about the same age, I figure you're walking the same road right now.
I've lived in the southeast since high school,--Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina and since 1986, Georgia. I've learned that everywhere in the southeast is hot and humid! The accents are fun, too. I used to enjoy the food more. 'Fried' and 'Fat' weren't always 'f' words. (Can you say that on this website?)

bounding grace' and "multiplying peace" that comes from 'coming to know Jesus, our God and Lord, better and better.' That's my focus these days. I am regularly surprised by who he really is. He's what makes the 'better and better' of my life, particularly when things may feel more worse than better. When he entered the picture, my life began to transition from black and white (more darkness than light) to transcending beauty and color. The transformation of my perspective continues. Life is better and better, even with the end in sight.
Meantime, I've enjoyed having my parents around. They moved to a retirement home nearby in 2006. We hadn't lived near each other for 30 years. And I'm thankful to have children and grandchildren nearby. Our son and his wife and their two children live 90 minutes away. Our oldest daughter is within a comfortable 2 hour drive. Our youngest daughter has lived overseas since 2001. We're thankful for internet and phone connection, and skyping with her children. Our kids are in fields they love, doing what they're designed to do. That makes this mom happy. And my husband and I are transitioning into a new career field that we both enjoy, and we get to do it together. This is a good season. I'll enjoy it while it's here.
